Why choose Sean?

Education

Sean Goebel holds a four year bachelor of music degree from the University of Calgary in guitar and composition. It's recommend to take music instruction from teachers with formal music backgrounds. They are often better equipped to explain key concepts and set groundwork for long-term learning.

Experience

Sean Goebel has been teaching numerous students from age six to sixty for the previous ten years. Sean has studied guitar under professionals like Jake Solomans (classical guitar), Scott Howe (classical guitar) and Ralf Buschmeyer (jazz guitar) and played in numerous professional groups in a variety of styles (see biography for more). Sean has recently helped two of his students pass their Royal Conservatory exams with honours, his vocal coaching helped another student into the Young Canadians. Sean is often called upon to instruct professional guitar clinics for the City of Calgary and various schools.

Flexibility

Sean is able to offer lessons at his studio (1327 21 avenue NW) or in your home (travel charges will apply). Sean specializes in teaching folk, classical, jazz, and rock but can instruct in almost any style. Sean believes in tailoring lessons towards a students goals and expanding their horizons.
